Tech: Monitor Problem
It seems the setup.exe installs some extra apps that let you do something in the control panel, maybe setting dual monitor mode? I installed a clean Win 2000 (reformatted the hard drive). Drivers work fine, just can't sort this dual monitor issue out. Any help appreciated. Peter.

TECH: Battlezone too bright (not a monitor issue)
So
on this type monitor you know you have good horizontal up to the yoke by the fact you have HV to light the line in the screen. Look for, as mentioned stuff. If it's got a dual HV/horiz drive system like Krystel monitors or Sony HDTVs then there's going to be a complex diagnosing, not possible here for sure.

LG monitor issue
My question to the group...is this an issue with my Voodoo 5 AGP, or perhaps a monitor issue, and what can I do to fix it if it is indeed a video card issue? Many thanks in advance. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World!

Monitor issue
What
I am trying to do is ascertain whether this is a monitor issue or a cable/signal issue. The exact nature of the problem is a kind of "ghosting" of on-screen features. For example, if there is a dark horizontal line on the screen, a light coloured "smear" carries on after the line ends on the right-hand side.

Monitor Issue
I have since added an old ATI Rage II PCI card, that I had laying around, to enable the use of a second monitor to use as a reference monitor while in Win2000. The issue is that when I set the BIOS to boot the GeForce2 card first, the ATI doesn't work. Windows finds the card but just doesn't allow me to use it.

Debra Earle theb...@intranet-works.com corelsupport wordperfect8suite-wordperfect Per JJ's & other posts, it's a video card issue, not a monitor issue. However, many PC's show the display card type as soon as you power up, before the BIOS info is shown. Or, you could open the case & see what's in there.

It gives the impression that the screen resolution is rapidly changing. So the screen fluctuates between full screen and about 3/4 screen very rapidly. Try a different monitor and see if it does the same thing. If it does, the problem is more likely with your video card. It may be as simple as a driver update. Of course, if the problem goes away with another display, it could be the settings on the Dell. Check if the Dell's controls have settings for resolution

Is this a monitor hardware issue or is it a Windows 2000 issue? It's a monitor issue. The monitor may have controls that let you adjust that.
